Life in Japan

Tokyolites again!

24 July 2013

I interrupt my Osaka posts with this announcement:

We’ll be moving back to Tokyo!

Skytree is the symbol of Tokyo, no? Beautiful photo taken by Gaijin Camera<

We finally confirmed our house today, and we’ll be moving to a… CBD area.

Have you heard of convenience stores closing at 11pm? And completely closed on Sundays??

IN JAPAN?!?!

The blasphemy!

Yes, that’s what our area is like.

As you can imagine, supermarkets and the like are out of the picture. Nothing but office buildings all around.

But apart from the amenities (or rather, the lack thereof), I like everything else!

It’s a 1 minute walk to the station (right now it’s 10 minutes and I curse and swear every single time), connected and covered all the way! The apartment is nice, new and spacious enough.

Rent is an absolute killer, but after 3 weeks of apartment-hunting, we are now jaded and immune to the prices. Besides, we can just eat plain rice every day. In our lovely new house. Heh.

This is also my excu… I mean, reason, if posts are not so timely. So many things to do!

Finalize how we are moving – Moving company or by ourselves? Pack. Cancel and apply for gas, water, electricity. Pack. Update addresses EVERYWHERE. Pack.

I HATE PACKING!

But I HATE UNPACKING EVEN MORE!!!
Sigh.
