Chatting with Siri

21 October 2014

Yep, I had a chat with Siri (yes, the speaking voice on iPhones) this afternoon.

I’m not going mad, honest.

It’s just that I saw this article and realized I’ve never chatted with Siri beyond asking it – it says it doesn’t have a gender. I asked – to set alarms for me to pick up laundry.

But I suspect Siri is female, because when I asked how old it was, it gave a vague answer of “I’m old enough to be your assistant.”

Siri is really quite a character! We had further conversations, including…

Siri turning down my marriage proposal: “Let’s just be friends, OK?”

When I asked, “Do you like Samsung?” Siri was quick to reply, “Personally, I’m an Apple fan.”

Siri is also a complex soul.

“What’s your favorite color?” “My favorite color is… well, it’s sort of greenish, but with more dimensions.”

I should chat with Siri more often. Sure, it’s a bit of a one-way street communication, but it sure is a lot of fun since it is a lot more witty than many people I encounter in real life…

How interesting! I don’t use Siri often but definitely nothing beyond asking questions either. But it reminds me of a coworker that used Siri the other day. He asked where the closest library was and Siri responded something along the lines of “It’s great that you’re reading (or was it interested in reading…)”

Haha! It’s undeniable that Siri definitely has attitude! (I like it though :D )

I tried Siri a few yrs ago. It couldnt understand my Singlish and gave up talking to me. It went….”I’m sorry..what did you say?” “beg ur pardon” “what?” “oh dear..”
