Skincare for him – Nature Republic Africa Bird Homme

2 November 2014

Are you a guy who thinks skincare is only for girls?
Or perhaps you’re the kind who doesn’t give a crap about skincare? (say wha?)
Or maybe you know a guy who’s like that?

Well, I DO know a guy like that. Fu is the kind who’s so lazy/not bothered with skincare that he would just slap his face with water or BODY SOAP (the horror!) and be done if he could get away with it.

His skin gets awfully dehydrated that it cracks and peels, yet it is oily at the same time. Very tricky skin on a very lazy boy. You can imagine the herculean task I had at hand trying to get him to keep to any kind of skincare routine!

However, I’m happy to say that… I succeeded!!! I know I did because he recently finished up the ENTIRE BOTTLE of product I got him, after applying it religiously every. single. day.

I bought said magical item on our trip to Korea earlier this year. I randomly saw it while shopping and decided to get it for him because it looked perfect for my purposes.

All-in-one” are the magical words here.

This single bottle contains toner, lotion and essence! They compacted 3 steps into just 1! These people really know what they’re doing, because it’s perfect for the lazy guy.

The shocking thing is now that he has finished the bottle, he’s actually complaining that his face feels dry and that he misses applying it! He was actually whining (don’t tell him I said that) about the discomfort and even asked me for a new bottle! An entirely changed man, he is.

Here’s what I got out of a quick interview with him:

Likes:
✓ Face feels moisturized and comfortable
✓ Cooling feeling on face (but it’s NOT the minty menthol kind of cooling)
✓ Gel-cream texture is easy to apply
✓ Pleasant smell

Dislikes:
✘ Nothing (!!)

I thought I’d add on my own likes and dislikes too:

(My) Likes:
✓ THE FACT THAT HE USES IT EVERYDAY!!!
✓ His face feels softer! (even if it doesn’t appear to be so)
✓ Affordable

(My) Dislikes:
✘ Difficult to obtain
✘ Strange name. Did they mean African bird? Or bird of Africa? What is Africa bird?!!

If you’re interested in getting this for a lazy guy in your life (or perhaps even yourself, heh), check out your local Nature Republic store! Outside of Korea, I know there are Nature Republic stores in Singapore and Hong Kong. The rest of us will just have to buy it online; via Amazon or the like.

Fu finished up his bottle while we were in USA, and was not quite placated by the temporary Olay replacements I gave him. Luckily we are heading back to Japan now and he can use the backup bottle we bought in Korea :D

so jealous, I tried to convince my partner and failed terribly. One of his most prized buys was a 3-in-1 soap that you can shampoo hair, clean body and wash ur face. ……………yikes!

Hahaha! That totally sounds like what my pre-adapted-to-this-bottle husband would love too!

Well, if your partner’s skin is doing ok even with this 3-in-1 soap, then I suppose it doesn’t hurt…?

No, his skin is not ok (according to my standards) but at least I’ve convinced him to put sunblock once in a blue moon.
Worse is his feet they are like snake’s skin

SUNBLOCK! He is actually willing to wear sunblock?!! You rock. I haven’t gotten that far yet. But one day, one day…

Haha, the soles of his feet? If so, this might help!

cos it’s Australia!skin cancer kills and I scare him all the time. I use Hugh jackman as an example

Yes, I know about the feet peeling thing and wanted to try. But he does kendo so we don’t want skin flying everywhere in the hall >_<

Ahhhh… Australia. That makes perfect sense now. (I had to google Hugh Jackman to find out what you meant though)

Haha, yeah that would make him look slightly less cool when he leaves bits of skin in his wake. Not to mention the nightmare of having to clean up after!

oops…sorry about hugh jackman. He’s like …ermm…as famous as chicken rice is to Singaporeans in Australia.

Also, can I ask you a personal opinion? What domain would you recommend to start a blog? Used to use blogspot and didnt like it. And I really like yours, so would appreciate any suggestions from you. thanks!

Haha! So you’re no stranger to our chicken rice! I know who Hugh Jackman is (who doesn’t, after Wolverine ;P) It’s just that I’m usually not up to date on the happenings of celebrities.

No problem! I use wordpress (.org) that is installed on a personal hosting site. You could try out the free wordpress.com instead, if you don’t want to be too invested at the start and just want to get a feel of how wordpress works :)

Ooh, I had no idea you were Singaporean!

WordPress can be simple to use, but can also be as complex as you want if you dive into the plugins, customizations and all that jazz. Have fun experimenting!
