No one actually asked me (apart from the first question), but I imagine some people might be curious. At least you are, seeing as how you are reading this right now ;)
The #1 question of all time: What do you do everyday?
I’ve finally answered the question that everyone seems to LOVE asking me. Please read the answer here and spare me (and Fu) the torture!
Who is Fu?
My husband. Partner in crime. Only person who will readily go along with all my whims and fancies. And craziness. No questions asked. No eyebrows raised. (99% of the time)
Who is Haru?
Our gorgeous and smart ride. Brains and brawns.
What camera do you use?
This. Before I bought it, I was primarily using the iPhone. Some of the recent posts still include a photo or two from the iPhone, mostly due to convenience.
Why do you write funny sometimes?
(“you” being me, really. Remember it’s supposed to be a FAQ? But since I’m the one asking the question, it might confuse you when I say “you” and make you think I’m talking about you when I mean me. Are you confused yet?)
Ah yes. If you’ve never been to Singapore or heard “Singlish” (Colloquial Singaporean English), then you might be puzzled by my odd grammar or vocabulary at times.
I am perfectly capable of writing in Standard English (or at least I’d like to think so… haha!), but sometimes things (mostly the funny ones) are just better expressed in Singlish.
Most of the time, you can infer from the context what I’m trying to say, which is why I don’t bother explaning. Besides, it kinda ruins the flavor when I have to provide definitions in parenthesis. Just go with the flow and maybe pick up a new Singlish word or two!
This link and this link will provide insight into Singlish, should you be so inclined.
Why are some of your posts so increeeeedibly long?
Yeah I know. I’m the kind where it’s all or nothing at all. If I write, I go all out and write on and on. But I’m aware of it and I’m working towards being more er, succinct.
Why are you in Japan? Why do you like Japan?
I could write a dissertation-worthy piece, but you probably don’t have the patience for that. The short answer is because it’s AWESOME. It’s my absolute favorite country in the world. Even with radiation and all.
If you’ve been to Japan before, you’ll probably understand why. If you’ve never been to Japan before, then you probably won’t. Also, YOU NEED TO VISIT JAPAN.
Are you a vampire?
Does it show?
Your questions and answers are getting ridiculous.
That’s not a question. And why don’t you try doing a self-asked FAQ for yourself to see how difficult it is? You could also ask me real questions below instead ;)
Hey triplerin, enjoyed reading your posts. 楽しかった。 would like to enquire about the price of the hoodie if attack of the titan :)
Hi Wei Jie,
それは良かった ^^
Regarding the hoodie, do you mean the green mantle of the Survey Corps?
Yes! いくらですか?(≧∇≦)
I bought it quite a long time ago and don’t remember the exact price, but I believe it’s less than S$20 :)
Hi,
Glad I’ve found your blog! I am also a fellow Singaporean, lived in Japan in 2008-2012 (Kyoto) and came back to Singapore. However, I am married to my then kareshi, whom is my husband now and we are planning of moving back to Japan, his hometown to be exact in another year or so! So it’s good to know that there’s fellow Singaporean living in Japan too!
Out of curiousity, is your husband Japanese too?
Hi Melissa,
Great to hear from you! Nope, Fu is also Singaporean :)
Are you moving back to Kyoto? I assume you’re excited about the move! Hope you’ll have a smooth move and transition back to Japan!
So what does your husband do? Salaryman?
こんばんわ!
Fellow Singaporean residing in Japan too! Loving the way you answered to “what do you do everyday?”
Personally, I think that 主婦 life is even tougher as compared to my working life in SG. 😂
Really enjoyed reading through your journals!
